IMPORTANT USciences COVID-19 Task Force Update (11/08/2020)

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Today, the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health issued an urgent recommendation following this weekend’s election-related and other gatherings.  The Department recommends that “anyone who has been around a large crowd of people recently should quarantine for 14 days.  This means they should stay away from others who are not in their household…”  Additionally, the Department recommends obtaining COVID-19 testing seven days after the last day an individual was around a large crowd.

In order to protect the campus community, we concur with these recommendations and advise both quarantine and testing as advised.  We also understand that there are on-campus exams scheduled this week and next that may fall into the required quarantine period.  Students who are scheduled for these exams and who have been exposed to the large crowds should reach out to their faculty members immediately to review their options.

Thank you for your ongoing support for each other and for the University,

The COVID-19 Task Force
