Introducing Concierge Safety officers

Dear Campus Community,

The University of the Sciences Department of Public Safety is proud to announce the latest improvement in our ever-evolving deployment and campus public safety model. Beginning this week, DPS has begun to implement our new Concierge Safety officers at key locations across campus. Our Concierge Safety Officers will be wearing a concierge uniform and they will be primarily staged in the front facing lobby area of the buildings to which they are assigned. Woodland/Glasser, Mayes College, the Science Technology Center (STC) and The England Library, will be the first buildings to see these new officers. This follows the model that has been employed at Griffith Hall where campus community fixture and favorite, Lisa Clermont, can be found every day. These positions will be staffed during peak operating hours where these officers will monitor access, provide rapid response for that building, conduct both interior and exterior patrols, and perhaps most importantly they will also provide a community-based customer service interface for visitors and community members alike. Each position will have a dedicated person who will become a fixture among your daily routines. Please feel free to introduce yourself, make their acquaintance, and welcome them to your building.

Below are the times that these concierge posts will be covered:

Woodland/Glasser – Monday-Friday – 9:00a-5:00p – PSO Lamar Lewis

Mayes College – Monday-Thursday – 10:00a-6:00p; Fridays – 9:00a-5:00p – PSO Norman El Hodges

Science and Technology Center (STC) – Tuesdays-Saturdays – 9:00a-5:00p – PSO Ashley Jackson

England Library – Tuesday-Thursday – 4:00p-12:00a; Friday-Saturday – 12:00p-8:00p (Winter and Spring Break 9:00a-5:00p) – Officer TBD (Coming soon)
