Public Safety Advisory


Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)  notified Universities and Colleges in our region  that threats of violence have been made against “an unspecified university near Philadelphia”.

The information includes a specific date of Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, 1 p.m. central time/ 2 p.m. eastern time.

We have been advised  by ATF and the FBI that they have “no knowledge of any specific threat”.  However, in an abundance of caution we are working closely with Federal and local Law Enforcement Agencies to monitor this unspecified threat.  The Department of Public Safety has increase our security patrols and requested an increase in Philadelphia Police patrols in the area.

We ask that you remain aware of your surroundings, report any suspicious activity or behavior to the Department of Public Safety via 215-895-7000, or the Blue Light Emergency Call boxes.

The Department of Public Safety will continue to ensure the highest level of safety and security for our community.
