Public Safety Advisory UPDATE

Dear Campus Community,

The Department of Public Safety continues to monitor the campus following the alert issued on Sunday, October 4, 2015. While the threat is non-specific and covers the 80 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region, the entire USciences community is asked to remain vigilant.

University of the Sciences is operating on a regular schedule on Monday, October 5, 2015. The Department of Public Safety has increased patrols of the campus, and we continue to work with local and federal authorities. The Philadelphia Police are on heightened alert and have increased patrols.

Please be aware that all buildings are being put on card swipe access. All employees and students should display their USciences IDs to access campus buildings. If you do not have your USciences ID, please contact Terry Reilly (t.reilly@usciences.edu) to arrange for a new ID.

Please be advised, classes are being held on a regular schedule. Students with concerns about their safety who will not be attending classes, should contact their instructor if they will miss an exam or lab. Off-campus experiential learning will follow regular schedules.

We ask that you remain aware of your surroundings, report any suspicious activity or behavior to the Department of Public Safety via 215-596-7000, or the Blue Light Emergency Call boxes.

Please be sure to use the Walking and Riding Escorts available to you. Additionally, if you have not done so, please take a moment to sign up for the University Emergency Text Alert Notification System at http://alert.usciences.edu
