Tornado Watch

Tornado Watch/Severe Weather Notice

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Pennsylvania that includes 5 counties in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia at 2:30 – 5:00 pm. Also this watch includes 13 counties in Central New Jersey, Mercer Monmouth, Northern New Jersey, and Hunterdon Middlesex Somerset in Southern New Jersey, Atlantic, Burlington Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Ocean Salem.  This would also include Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, Deptford, Doylestown, East Brunswick, Edison, Flemington, Freehold, Glassboro, Hammonton, Media, Millville, and Moorestown, Mount holly New Brunswick, Norristown, North Brunswick Township, Ocean City, Pennsville, Perth Amboy, Sayreville, Toms River, Trenton and West Chester. 

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms with possible tornadoes. Persons in the watch areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings.

In addition, the Office of Emergency Management is monitoring thunderstorms and winds moving our way this afternoon. Even if a tornado does not develop, thunderstorms can bring in destructive straight line winds. Although unlikely, depending on how rainfall develops, small stream and/or river flooding may also be possible. A Wind Advisory is currently in effect until 12am this evening. Gusts could reach upwards of 50 mph with sustained winds between 20 and 25 mph.

Coastal waters included are Delaware Bay Waters South of East Point NJ to Slaughter Beach, DE Coastal Waters from Sandy Hook to Manasquan Inlet NJ out 20 NM Coastal Waters from Manasquan inlet to Little Egg Inlet NJ out 20 NM.  Coastal Waters from Egg Inlet to Cape May NJ out 20 NM for additional information please go to:   http://www.weather.gov/phi

2 Hour Delay Due to Weather - 2/18/14

Due to extreme weather conditions USciences will operate on a 2 hour delay.  The University will open at 11:00 am today, February 18, 2014.  

Due the delayed opening, the following dining schedule will be in place:

Wilson Dining Hall: 9:15am open

Wilson Express: 10:00am open

Coffee Lab: 9:15am open

Starbucks: 9:00am open

the ARC will be open from 11am-10pm

Dining Services - 2/3/14

Due to the weather, USciences Dining Services will operate on a modified schedule for Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. Wilson Dining Hall will open on a brunch schedule (7:15am to 7pm). Wilson Express will open from 5pm to 10pm. Starbucks will be closed. The STC Coffee Lab will be closed.
